Cacatua moluccensis, Moluccan Cockatoo or “Molly”
The Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) is the only global treaty designed to protect wildlife and plant populations from declining because of excessive trade. The treaty provides for the monitoring and regulation of trade in species listed in its appendices. Appendix I covers more than 600 species threatened with extinction, and prohibits commercial trade in these species. Moluccan Cockatoos are CITES 1 listed.
