Thank you for your interest in placing your bird with the Coventry Companion Bird Survival Center. Coventry cannot provide for every bird in need, but seriously considers each request to accept a bird on an individual, bird-by-bird basis. Coventry is a parrot welfare organization, not just a rescue, rehabilitation, adoption and sanctuary facility. Coventry provides for the complete physical, psychological and environmental well being of the parrots in its care whether they remain in sanctuary, or transition to adoptive homes.
Every decision to either accept a parrot, or to place a parrot into another situation, is based on the individual bird's best interest and the well being of the current flock.
We do NOT buy birds.
There are several ways we admit birds:
Application for acceptance of bird for adoption or sanctuary; |
Rescue, lost bird or emergency; |
Transfer from veterinarian, animal shelter, other parrot welfare organization, breeder or pet store. |
In order for us to accept your bird, these factors are considered (emergencies excepted):
Evaluation of the history of the individual bird and its present and future needs; |
Our ability to provide a consistent high quality of life for your bird's needs during its lifetime or time with us; |
Aviary capacity and the human/parrot ratio. |
Please phone us at 530 275-8188, or email us. We’re still in the process of working on our forms.
