Bird Care Classes

Tuscon, ARIZONA
TARA - Tucson Avian Rescue & Adoption

Parrot Care classes are 4 weeks long. They cover many areas of avian care including: diet, housing, behavior, behavior modification, toys, nutrition, exercise, daily care, parrot development, the “bonding issue”, the importance of the “step up” command, medical & emergency care, finding a good avian vet, first aid kits, household hazards, what to do if your bird escapes, etc. This is a bare outline of what is offered.

Pet birds are welcome on the 3rd & 4th class dates with proof of psitt-free test within the last 6 months, and a health “pass” from the vet.

We charge $45 for the 4 sessions at this time. $15 of that goes to support TARA ( Tucson Avian Rescue & Adoption)

At this time classes are held at a pet store on Thursday evenings, and a vet’s office on Saturday afternoons. We are checking out two other vets in different areas of town so people on the east side of Tucson have a chance.

For class information and registration, please contact Barb Bailey at (520) 531-8353 or Sharon Loper-Bloch at (520) 322-9865.
